Recipe of the Month - March 2016

Dutch Oven Cheesy Bacony Potatoes.....Mmmmmm

These delicious potatoes are great to eat on a cold day by themselves or as an accompaniment to a stew or any other campfire main. They are easy peasy to make and combine 3 of the best ingredients ever:) 


  • Potatoes (Sliced) 
  • Bacon (Chopped) 
  • Cheese (Grated) 
  • Onions (Sliced) 
  • Any herbs or spices that you might like to add


  1. Slice your potatoes and onions no thicker than 1 cm 
  2. In your warm Dutch Oven fry the bacon Remove bacon but leave cooking juices in the Dutch Oven 
  3. Layer half the potatoes and onions in the Dutch Oven, sprinkle with salt and pepper (and herbs is using) 
  4. Cover with half the bacon and cheese 
  5. Repeat the layers 
  6. Cook for 45 minutes until the potatoes are soft 
  7. Enjoy!
